The Handmaid's Tale
For my graphic design class, I chose to redesign the book "The Handmaid's Tale," a classic narrative about a woman who embarks on a perilous journey toward freedom, challenging an oppressive regime that seeks to strip her of autonomy and identity. I utilized the Ms Eaves font for its elegance and historical significance, symbolizing the protagonist's struggle and quest for liberation. The cover features a striking image of birds escaping from a cage, visually representing the themes of confinement and the pursuit of freedom. Every design element, from the typography to the imagery, is carefully selected to resonate with the book's powerful message and enhance the reader's connection to the story.
